Who is responsible

What we collect

• Orders and messages: your email address, your name if you give it, the property you asked about, your message, the price, and any company or VAT details you give us for the invoice. With each order we also keep the version and wording of the terms you agreed to, the time you agreed, and the IP address it came from: the record consumer law expects us to hold.
• Files you send us: documents, plans or photos you attach to an order or a message. We keep them on our servers in the European Union, read them with the registers for your report, and delete them when the order record no longer needs them.
• Account: if you create one, your email address, an optional password (kept only as a secure hash), and the saved searches, alert areas and favourites you create.
• Technical logs: IP address, browser and timestamps, kept to keep the service secure and to diagnose faults.

Card details never reach us: payments are handled by our payment provider, and we store only the reference and the outcome.

Why, and on what basis

• To answer your message and to produce, deliver and invoice the report you ordered: the contract, plus the legal obligation to keep an accounting record.
• To send the alerts and emails you signed up for: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse: our legitimate interest.

Public property data

Our reports use public registers (chiefly the Land Register, the cadastre and the planning registers) and public listings. Some of this is personal data: the Land Register names a property’s owners, and a paid report names the owner of the property it covers, as the register shows it. We use these data so that a buyer can check a purchase; the legal basis is the legitimate interest of the buyer and of Site Radar (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We take the data from the registers when we prepare a report, keep them only with that report and its order record, and never sell or publish them. The sample reports on this site have the owners’ names removed. If your name appears in a report and you want to know what we hold, or object to its use, write to us at info@siteradar.lv.

Who else processes your data

Only the providers that make the service work. They act on our instructions under contract. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising; we disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.

• Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland; group companies in the United States): card payments. Your card details never reach our servers.
• Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States): the sending of our transactional email, plus DNS and network protection for siteradar.lv.
• Resend (United States): the fallback email sender.
• Hetzner (Germany): the servers and the database, inside the EU.

Where a processor is outside the EEA (Stripe’s and Cloudflare’s US group companies, and Resend), the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses in that provider’s data processing agreement.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records for the period Latvian accounting law requires. Files you sent with an order for as long as the order record needs them. Account data for as long as your account is active, and then on request we delete it. Web server logs for 14 days and application logs for about 30 days; then they are deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, export, deletion or restriction of your data, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email us and we act on it. You may also complain to Latvia’s Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).

Cookies

No advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. We load our statistics app only after you say yes, and it sets no cookies.

• sr_consent: essential. Records the answer you gave the cookie banner, so we do not ask again.
• dr_session: essential. Keeps you signed in, if you have an account. Set only after you sign in.
• dr_theme: essential. Remembers whether you chose the light or dark display on the map.
• Statistics: optional, and loaded only if you allow it. It counts anonymous visits so we can see which pages are read; refuse, and the statistics app is not loaded at all.
